Honoring the pride of the Northland!  We serve to highlight our communities with honest reporting as progress is dependent on facts.  The Northland

is rich with outdoor activities and beautiful landscapes found in few places around the world.  We respect the need to preserve our environment while

also allowing for the sustainable incomes and livelihoods of our residents.  Both are needed and possible. . .

A Foolish Population Gored by B.S.

A Foolish Population Gored by B.S.

An Inconvenient Truth is an Academy Award-winning documentary about Al Gore’s “commitment to expose the myths and misconceptions that surround global warming and inspire actions to prevent it.”  In his documentary, Gore provided a computer simulation suggesting what would happen to the shorelines of Florida and the San Francisco Bay if sea levels were to rise by twenty feet, while providing no timeframe for such an event to occur.

In his 1993 book, Earth in the Balance, Al Gore wrote:  About 10 million people in Bangladesh will lose their homes and means of sustenance because of the rising sea level, due to global warming, in the next few decades. Where will they go? Whom will they displace? What political conflicts will result? The answers are nowhere, no one, and none.  Al Gore’s documentary on exposing myths and misconceptions was itself one of myths and misconceptions.  Nonetheless, he won an Academy Award and became very rich sticking to his convenient lies.
According to some predictions, not long after Bangladesh feels the impact, up to 60 percent of the present population of Florida may have to be relocated. Earth in the Balance: Ecology and the Human Spirit. By Al Gore. Houghton Mifflin, 1992, p. 73.

It's 31 years later, the time Gore predicted the beginning of the end.  Yet, we’re still waiting for more intense storms, rising sea levels, and population movements.  What really happened?

In 2008, scientists with the Center for Environment and Geographic Information Services in Bangladesh announced that their study of satellite images and maps shows that Bangladesh gained about 1,000 square kilometers of land since 1973.

Per a 2016 study of Earth’s surface area published in the journal Nature, between 1985 and 2015:

    44,000 square miles (115,000 square km) of Earth’s land area became water
    67,000 square miles (173,000 square km) of Earth’s water area became land
    8,000 square miles (20,000 square km) of Earth’s coastal land area became water
    13,000 square miles (34,000 square km) of Earth’s coastal water area became land.

Similar claims about increased tornadoes, hurricanes, tropical storms, and cyclone energy are likewise myths.  They are in the same range as they were in 1970.  In defense of their belief in catastrophic global warming, people say the weather was never like this when I was a kid.  It’s weather, always changing, and our lifetimes are a miniscule sample of time relative to long-term statistics.  If the world came into existence more than 14 billion years ago, what is 100 years?  It’s statistically zero, zilch, nothing.

As for claims that 97% of scientists agree with the devasting effects of global warming, that is a widespread myth.

As of August 2015, 31,487 scientists, including 3,805 with degrees in atmospheric, earth, or environmental science and 9,029 Ph.D.’s in varying scientific fields, have signed a petition stating:

There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth. Source:  www.petitionproject.org.  This hardly speaks to claims of “consensus” and “settle science.”

Those relying on the International Panel of Climate Change (IPCC) should read up on the scandalous United Nations department.

Between July 1, 2007 and Dec. 31, 2007, ABC, CBS, and NBC aired 188 stories regarding climate change. Of these, 79% excluded any dissent about human-induced global warming. Much like the collusion lie that wasted tens of millions of dollars in an attempted coup of the president, fake news and the Democrats spun an even bigger lie as truth.  Now, the same democrats are calling for a transition to 100% clean energy in Minnesota by 2030.  First, it’s not possible and second, it would lead to enormous utility costs for all residents.  It’s what they don’t tell you that should worry you.  They count on you not studying the issue and merely acting on your whipped-up emotions.
